Silvercup Studios is the headquarters of one of New York City’s largest film and television production facilities. Productions such as 30 Rock, Gossip Girls, The Sopranos, When Harry Met Sally, The Godfather III and Do the Right Thing have been created in this facility. The owners of the building, Stuart & Alan Suna, wanted to ensure that the building remained healthy and watertight.
This four-story pre-war building, originally constructed in 1931 for Silvercup Bread, was in need for a full restoration of its exterior façade and bulkhead walls. During our visual, physical and evasive inspections it was found that years of water infiltration had caused damage to the façade as well as damage to the underlying structure behind. Modern techniques of waterproofing were implemented behind the facade which was restored to maintain its original aesthetic.
